Due to the size limitation of the LUTHOR scd Tip aperture, cells smaller than 8µm or larger than 25µm are not compatible with the LUTHOR single cell dispenser (please see the following FAQs: What are the cell size limitations?).

Therefore, due to their small size, dispensing bacterial cells is not recommended.

Plants cells, neurons, and muscle cells can also be challenging due to their large size. An alternative for these sample types would be dispensing single nuclei rather than whole cells.
