CORALL has broad species compatibility and will work for all RNA, regardless of origin (including bacteria), as long as there is enough input material. A suitable reference genome will be required to align sequencing reads to for data analysis.
CORALL can be used with total RNA as input. However, a ribosomal RNA depletion (rRNA) or poly(A) RNA enrichment is typically performed prior to CORALL Library Prep, in order to exclude ribosomal RNAs that can otherwise account for >90 % of mapped sequencing reads.
